SANTA ROSA, CA | August 19, 2025

The Sonoma County Historical Records Commission is now accepting nominations for their 2025 Collections and Archives Recognition Awards. This award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of individuals, groups, agencies, collections and archives located within Sonoma County. Nominees located within the boundaries of Sonoma County and practicing the collection and preservation of historical records for the promotion of history and cultural preservation qualify for the award.

A complete description of the criteria for the award and the nomination form may be found at: https://sonomacounty.gov/hrc. Nominations are due by Nov. 30. The 2025 awards will be presented in conjunction with the Sonoma County Historical Society’s annual meeting in March 2026.

Last year, the Commission bestowed three awards to a diverse group of individuals and organizations, which included:

  • Michael Acker, honored for his many diverse and ongoing projects documenting and preserving the history of the Sonoma Valley.
  • Eowyn Medieros, recognized for her work leading a special project centered on the Sonoma Mountain Cemetery; geo-locating grave sites and digitizing cemetery records.
  • Charlie Siebenthal, awarded for his long service with the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Historical Society, which has included collecting, preserving, and publishing on the railroad history of the North Bay and Coast.
